Animated by the unique style of Martha Graham’s revolutionary dance technique and her vision of dance as the hidden language of the soul, a group of dancers retreated to the countryside in southeastern Carinthia to celebrate, connect with each other, and release the distinctive spirit of Anima Fabrik. Spinning through the humid grass in the twilight of the last day of summer, the dancers were guided, choreographed, and moulded into “dancing sculptures”, physically merging with the shapes of the landscape on set.
The movements and poses resulted from dance trainings with Irena Tavpash and Magdalena Jursic based on the aesthetic concept that seeks an intrinsic sense of balance, inner grounding and weighting of the body. The appropriate grounding reflects a shared idea of dance, togetherness, beauty, and raw energy, as well as the individual realities of the dancers, choreographers, and the photographer.
Concept and Choreography: Irena Tavpash, Magdalena Jursic
