ANIMA FABRIK is Vienna's international school for contemporary modern dance.
Founded in 2019
by Irena Tavpash and Magdalena Jurisic
We are passionate about keeping modern dance alive and sharing it with others. We focus a lot on technique because we believe it helps dancers become strong and gives them the foundation they need to express themselves. By mixing traditional techniques with new, contemporary influences, we want to create something fresh and exciting.
Our professional teachers come from all over the world, bringing lots of experience and different ideas to our classes. We have a diverse community of dancers, and we love the friendships and cultural exchanges that happen here.
We're lucky to call the Creative Cluster our home. This space used to be an elementary school, but now it's a co-working hub for young artists, designers, creatives, and educators. Each old classroom has been transformed into a studio with its own unique artistic vibe. We've taken over the former teachers' lounge, directors' office, and computer room, and turned them into the most beautiful dance spaces.
Come join us at ANIMA FABRIK, where we celebrate the strength of technique, the joy of dance, and help you become the amazing dancer you want to be!
WE ARE ANIMA
Irena Tavpash, born in Ukraine, is an accomplished ballerina, contemporary dancer, and choreographer.
For the last decade, she has made Vienna her home and furthered her education in Theater, Film, and Media Science there.
With roots in classical ballet, Irena has expanded her expertise by exploring various modern techniques. Her choreography captures the harmony between control and liberation, between structure and spontaneity, and between age-old traditions and contemporary innovations.
Born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Magdalena is a multi-faceted artist: a jazz dancer, set designer, and trained architect.
Magdalena's holistic grasp of dance, movement, and space is a testament to her expertise. Whether it's the costume's design, the technical execution of a dance sequence, or the physical set design, each element tells a story.
Magdalena’s work is characterized by minimalist designs, clean lines, and repetitive patterns, mirroring architectural blueprints.
